Description
For comparison, on a cloudy day, the light intensity is approximately 8 W/m². The sensor is directional, with a maximum measurement value when the sensor tip is pointed at the light source. The sensor is sensitive to visible light and infrared and can be used to measure visible light sources and IR light sources.
The sensor is not waterproof.
Some experiment suggestions include:
- Opaqueness/discoloration of a solution due to a chemical reaction
- Rapid fluctuations in light intensity, e.g., a computer screen or light bulb
- Effects caused by switching on or off
- Interference
- Light variations during a 24-hour period
The Light Sensor can be connected directly to the analog inputs of the CMA interfaces.
Technical specifications of the sensor are described in the product manual, see downloads.
