Description

The sensor has differential inputs, which means that measurements can be done directly across circuit elements without the constraints of common grounding.
It has two banana (4-mm) plugs for easy connection.

Technical specifications:

  • Measurement range: -12 .. +12 V (voltage between input terminals)
  • Max input voltage: ± 50 V
  • Input impedance to ground: 1 MW
  • Required: One sensor cable (BTsc_1 or BTsc_1Short)
  • Warrantee: 3 years

All technical specifications of the sensor are described in the product manual, see downloads.

The (differential) voltage sensor can be used in a variety of physics experiments, such as:

  • Measurements in series and parallel circuits
  • Voltage / Current relationships
  • Electrical component characteristics e.g. a light bulb, a diode, a light dependent resistor
  • Charging and discharging capacitors
  • Ohm’s law
  • Measurements of internal resonance and EMF
