Wireless barometer & temperature sensor

Wireless barometer & temperature sensor

Item nr. W01 Category
The CMA Science wireless barometer & temperature sensor simultaneously measures absolute atmospheric pressure and temperature, with ranges of -30 to 110 kPa and -40 to 125°C. The sensor is equipped with an OLED colour display that shows sensor information and measured values. This makes the sensor suitable for use as a standalone measuring instrument.

Description

This wireless barometer & temperature sensor can be used wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired via USB with the Coach 7 or Coach 7 lite programs/apps on computers (Windows and Mac), Chromebooks, and mobile devices (Android and iOS).
The sensor converts measured pressure and temperature values into digital values. The sensor comes factory-calibrated in kPa and °C.
When using the Coach program, the predefined calibration can be shifted using the “Set Value” option.

Suggested experiments:

  • Measure air pressure over time to observe daily fluctuations
  • Calculate altitude changes by moving the sensor to different floors or heights
  • Measure pressure changes in a closed space, e.g. (bell jar) when air is added or removed
  • Attach the sensor to a small balloon or drone to study atmospheric pressure at different altitudes
  • Map the elevation profile of a hiking trail using atmospheric pressure measurements
