Description
The electrical energy sensor is equipped with a color OLED display that displays sensor information and measured values. This makes the sensor suitable for use as a standalone measuring instrument.
This wireless energy sensor can be used wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired via USB with the Coach 7 or Coach 7 lite programs/apps on computers (Windows and Mac), Chromebooks, and mobile devices (Android and iOS).
Ideal sensor for measuring renewable energy sources in education.
Technical specifications:
- Measuring ranges: 0 .. 36 V / 0 .. 1 A / 0 .. 36 W / 0 .. 6000J
- Resolution: 1.25 mV / 1.25 mA / 10 mW / 0.1 J
- Warrantee: 36 months
- OLED display: 0.96” 128 x 64px
- Maximal sampling rate: 5 Hz
- Battery life: 6h when full (rechargeable)
- Connection: Bluetooth 5, Low Energy (Mac, Android, iOS) Bluetooth 2.1, Classic (Windows) or USB-C 2.0
All specifications of the sensor are described it its Product manual, see downloads.
Suggested physics experiments:
- Investigate how different loads (e.g., resistors of various values, motors, or bulbs) affect power consumption
- Compare the energy output of a solar panel under different lighting conditions
- Use the sensor to monitor how the voltage, current, and energy output of a battery change as it powers a device over time
- If you have a small model wind turbine, measure how much electrical energy it generates at different wind speeds
- Use the sensor to measure the efficiency of simple circuits by calculating input vs. output energy
