If you work mostly in your classroom with computers then CoachLab II+ is the best solution for you. It is a powerful and unique USB interface, that can be used as well for measurement with sensors as for control with actuators.
For all your new and old CMA sensors, and for direct measurement of voltage via 4-mm inputs.
School Level:
CoachLab II+ is a USB lab interface for High School until University level.
It can be used with computers (Mac and Windows). CoachLabs II+ (with serial number starting with SAG 10) can also work with Chromebooks.
CoachLab II+ is a unique interface because it combines sensor inputs (with BT and 4mm plugs) and control outputs for connecting actuators. This allows to use it for automated measurements.
Included: USB cable and Power adapter.
- CoachLab II+ is connected to the computer via the USB port and powered via a mains adapter.
- It is equipped with its own processor and memory, enabling measurements at high sampling rates up to 100 000 Hz with accurate independent timing.
- It has FLASH memory to allow easy upgrade of the internal operating system.
- For connecting sensors the interface has six sensor inputs: two analog (right handed) BT sockets (1 and 2), two with three 4-mm sockets (3 and 4) , 2 digital (left-handed) BT sockets.
- Sensor inputs support as well new as old CMA sensors. BT sensors are identified automatically, sensor with 4-mm plugs are supported via the Sensor Library.
- Sensor inputs with 4-mm sockets allow direct measurement of voltage in the ranges between 0 .. 5V and -10 .. 10 V.
- For connecting actuators CoachLab II+ has four output channels.
For connecting sensors CoachLab II+ has:
- Two analog BT inputs (1 and 2) to connect sensors with analog BT (right-handed) sensor. These inputs support all analog CMA BT sensors and automatically identify these sensors.
Sensors with 4-mm plugs can be connected to these inputs via Adapter 0519. - Two analog inputs (3 and 4) with three 4-mm sockets to connect sensors with 4-mm plugs. The connected sensors have to be set manually by selecting from the Sensor Library in the Coach software. Sensors with analog BT connectors can be connected to these inputs via Adapter 0520.
The 4-mm inputs allows direct measurement of voltage in the ranges between 0 ..5 V and -10 .. 10 V. - Two digital BT inputs (input 5 and 6) to connect Motion Detectors (0664).
- For connecting actuators CoachLab II+ has four output channels with two 4-mm sockets. Each of the output channels can be set in four controllable states. The output LED indicates the states of the output channel by means of different colors: Green, Orange, Red, Off.
- The maximum output current of each channel is 0.6 A. The total output current of all channels together is maximally 1.2 A. For instance, it is possible to drive two bi-directional motors of 0.5 A each.
- The output channels can be set to 16 different power levels. The power is set to outputs by Pulse Wide Modulation (by switching the 12 V on and off periodically) for example 50 % of the duty cycle (half of the cycle time power is switched on) would be the same as setting the voltage to 6 V.
To use CoachLab II+ you need:
- On computers (Windows Mac): Coach 7 Lite program (free) or Coach 7 program (License fee) (starting from version 7.3)
- On Chromebooks: Coach 7 App or Coach 7 Lite App
